I need to change the covers on my boat seats, so I ordered new seat skins from Ranger. Upholstery isn't something I'm skilled at, so I'm hoping someone can offer advice or tips. My boat is a 2003 Ranger 185VS, and any help would be appreciated.

The process in general isn't too difficult and you can diy it easily. You'll need staples, staple remover and a staple gun. Remove the covers anyway you want as you'll probably throw them away. When applying the new ones make sure the is stretched out to give the new covers a good look and not look old and saggy. Don't rush unless you want to redo the whole thing again.

Honestly, unless you're really patient or just love a challenge, I'd think twice before tackling it solo. Ranger seat skins can be stubborn, especially on an older 185VS. I tried it once trying to hep out a friend, never again. If you can swing it, paying a local upholsterer for the install might save you a ton of time (and frustration). Just my two cents from the school of hard staples.
