As a new member to the group, allow me to introduce myself; you can call me John!
I’m a 2nd generation recreational boater for more than 55 years. My father, a boat racer (A thru D class hydro & runabout) in the 50's-60's, worked for Kiekhaefer Mercury, then Evinrude Motors, giving me unlimited access to boats and boating.
After college, I took a job as a tech writer with a product support company developing service training for OMC products and eventually created the marine business unit working with boat builders, propulsion and accessory manufacturers to develop user information. Over the years I’ve worked for more than 75 companies in the rec marine industry.
I do not own a Ranger but joined the group to get some insight. I'm semi-retired now and provide consulting services to boat builders on user information such as owner's manuals. My focus is on boating safety and improving the information provided to users.
I’ll soon be posting a thread about your thoughts on boat owner’s manuals and what information is important to you.
Glad to meet you!
