I'm looking to replace the keypad and brain in my Ranger boat and would love to hear from anyone who's done this themselves. Once I've got it installed, does it require programming by my dealer, or is it a straightforward ranger boat keypad replacement where I just use the key code (1, 2, 3, 4) to get the engine going? Any tips or advice would be awesome

I was around when a friend replaced his keypad and it looked like it functioned with the the standard key code to start the engine!
He disconnected his cranking battery during replacement to avoid any electrical issues.
Another helpful tip, we took photos or added labels to some connectors just so it's easier for us to reconnect the new unit!

Yeah possible to DIY! But some might require help from the dealer (for the programming bit). Just in case you don't know how to do it I guess.

Thanks, it sounds like it's pretty straightforward, so I should be good to go
